Essential Listening: House and Techno

Hianali - Darius Syrossian

With upcoming sets at Defected Croatia and Defected Ibiza at superclub Eden, Darius Syrossian couldn't have chosen a better time to drop this belter.

Weaving effortlessly between club banger and lazy after-hours party with the fresh morning sun beginning to rise, Hianali will make a fantastic addition to his set no matter what time of day he takes to the stage.

Lazy, melty piano chords make up the softer section of the track while a deep, driving kick and warbling bassline offer the more hedonistic sounds.

The Moxy Muzik head has always advocated for maintaining the rave scene's integrity. So why not catch him doing just that with his upcoming 4-hour extended set?

Essential Listening: Indie and Alternative

Baby Blue - Sundara Karma

Sundara Karma has dropped a new track that makes you want to jump around in your bedroom like you're in a coming-of-age movie.

Taken from the band’s upcoming third album, Better Luck Next Time, Baby Blue straddles the line between pop, indie, and pop punk, with clear influences from yesteryear found in the occasional chanted group vocals.

Expected to be with us in October this year, the album will also feature the single Friends of Mine. If you’re as buzzing as we are for the new album, secure your tickets below to see how these new songs go down live.

Essential Listening: Drum & Bass and Jungle

Baddadan - Chase & Status and Bou ft. IRAH, Flowdan, Trigga and Takura

Chase & Status link up with Bou on a track that’s already been blasted by countless DJs across multiple festivals.

A dream come true for Bou, who said he wanted to collab with the duo since he was a teen, the track, in typical Chase & Status style, seems to be one that’ll transcend genre and recruit new DnB fans.

A bit of a chameleon, this track would fit in during a quiet one, just chatting with mates, or blasting out of a huge sound system with lasers all over the shop.

If it wasn’t enough to have two huge names in DnB on one track, there’s also FlowdanTrigga, Takura, and IRAH on the mic. Check it out.

Essential Listening: Hip-Hop and Jazz

Tear the Place Up - The Allergies feat. Andy Cooper

Tear the Place Up is a fierce, rapid track but is also clearly one that isn’t to be taken too seriously.

Inspired by the golden eras of hip-hop, funk, soul, and disco, The Allergies do their best to cram all their influences into their tracks. Tear the Place Up is certainly more hip-hop-leaning than their other tracks with a speedy, edgy instrumental and bars spat hastily over it.

On this light-hearted, party-starting track that’ll go absolutely wild live, the DJ/MC duo linked up with Andy Cooper of Ugly Duckling fame to create a tune (and music video) you won’t be forgetting any time soon.
