With the recent soaring temperatures and more sun expected in July and August, the famed Chorley Flower Show just might be offering one of the best ways to spend a sunny summer weekend this year, with more entertainment and activities than ever before.
The award-winning show boasts plenty to do and enjoy, including amateur photography, floristry, and flower, fruit, and vegetable competitions; professional gold-medal-winning exhibitors and traders; family entertainment; food and drink; and so much more.
Taking over Chorley’s Astley Park from Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August, with the 16th-century Grade I historic Astley Hall forming a stunning backdrop, Chorley Flower Show returns for its eleventh year, with weekend and day tickets available.
Fun for the whole family (including those without green thumbs), there'll be live music, penalty shootouts, crafts, dance, rides, adventure activities including a climbing wall and archery, and toy pedal tractors for the littluns - 15s and under go free, too!
The Saturday will have classic and vintage cars on display.
Food and drink span a variety of cuisines, with some gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian options available. We're talking wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, Texas-style BBQ, Greek, Indian flavours, Yorkshire pudding wraps, Neapolitan pizza, Japanese gyoza, burritos, rice boxes, nachos, toasties, fish and chips, gourmet sausages, ice cream, cakes, scones, and more.
Better still, a lineup of special guests will lead talks and workshops, sharing their expert knowledge at Chorley Flower Show.
One of Britain's best-loved gardeners, Charlie Dimmock, joins on the Saturday (1st August). Having presented BBC1's Ground Force, Cheer for Charlie, Charlie and the Duchess, Garden Invaders, and Chelsea Flower Show, she brings inspiring talks to Chorley Flower Show - you'll also have the chance to meet her!
TV presenter and bestselling author David Domoney arrives on the Sunday (2nd August) for expert talks, audience Q&As, and a meet and greet. Known for presenting Britain's most-viewed gardening show, ITV's Love Your Garden, and also This Morning, he's sure to get gardening enthusiasts giddy.
Interior Design Masters finalist Rita Millat brings her workshop 'The art of creating a home that feels good' on the Friday (31st July) and Sunday (2nd August), sharing her perspective on multi-sensory design and creativity. She'll also have an indoor summer installation on display inside Astley Hall.
There's also Jonathan Moseley, Martin Fish, and Jill Fish - all will be joining for all three days.
Traders onsite will be selling plants, bulbs, garden tools and accessories, pet supplies, fashion, and more for anyone who loves a bit of retail therapy and stepping up their gardening game.
Tying the festivities together, there’ll be a dog agility course and demos by Chorley Fun Agility Club (we did say fun for all the family!), plus a station for face painting, hair glitter, glitter tattoos, festival hair, and face gems.
Minutes from the M6, M61, and M65, plus free parking on the day, the Chorley Flower Show is super easy to get to.
