Few venues are woven into the fabric of their local area quite like Cafe 1001 is with East London.
Now, after more than 25 years on Brick Lane, the venue is marking the milestone with a special anniversary celebration, recently announcing DJ, producer, poet and Attica Blues co-founder Charlie Dark as its first headline guest; a man who has been shaping underground culture for even longer than Cafe 1001 has been serving it.
Bringing together residents, collaborators and long-time friends, the two-day homecoming party celebrates a quarter-century at the heart of East London's cultural and musical landscape, while honouring the venue's place as one of the UK's most enduring champions of hi-fi and listening culture.

Taking place across Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August, the celebrations begin with a late-night session led by Charlie Dark MBE, joined by long-time Cafe 1001 collaborator Chris Wheatley, with further artists still to be announced.
Saturday then hands the decks over to the people who have helped shape the venue's identity over the years, as residents Lucide, Gaby D'Annunzio, Hannah Lamb and Eman Pav join the wider 1001 All-Stars family for an all-day party running from midday until midnight.
Dubbed The Homecoming, the anniversary weekend also marks the culmination of Cafe 1001's year-long European Hi-Fi Tour, which has connected the Brick Lane institution with listening spaces and music communities across the continent. Bringing that journey back to East London, the event celebrates the artists, audiences and collaborators who have helped define Cafe 1001 over the last 25 years.
