Kevin Parker, the mastermind behind Tame Impala, seems to have confirmed a new album is on the way in a new Instagram post.
Posted on Saturday (July 13) and captioned "Been busy", the post includes personal snapshots as well as four pictures of Parker with music-making equipment, including keyboards, synthesisers, and a bass.
The last picture of the post seems to show the progress of each track on the album on a whiteboard, with all of them marked "Done".
The post comes after Kevin Parker played a new Tame Impala track during his DJ set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona last month, asking the crowd, “You guys want to hear a new song? You want to hear a new Tame Impala song? You’re going to be the first ones to hear it, you realise? There’s no going back from this point on, you realise?”
It’s been five years since Tame Impala's last album, 2020's The Slow Rush, which featured tracks ‘Borderline’ and ‘Is It True’. Before The Slow Rush was 2015’s Currents, containing ‘The Less I Know The Better’; 2012’s Lonerism; and 2010’s InnerSpeaker.
