Skiddle: The UK's biggest guide to festivals

There's so many amazing festivals out there but it can be difficult to work out which festivals you're going to attend. There's so many things to take into consideration - the location of the festival, the size of the festival, the genre of music, whether it's family friendly and the type of facilities onsite.

Skiddle's new Festivals Finder is here to make the process that bit easier. Simply use the Festivals Finder's unique festival search, which include options allowing you to search for festivals based on filters such as location; month; genres; type; size; accommodation; amenities and even the artists you've liked on Facebook!

Tyla J. Pallas is an English musician, artist and poet. He first made a name for himself in the late 80’s with rock n’ roll band The Dogs D’Amour. He has since released a prolific succession of albums and toured the world over as a solo artist. As well as being an accomplished songwriter, Tyla is equally well known for his distinct painting style that has adorned his album covers from the beginning.

As out of control as rock n’ roll was in the late 80’s, few artists could top the levels of debauchery and excess achieved by England’s own Dogs D’Amour. Led by singer, guitarist, songwriter and poet Tyla J. Pallas, the group’s albums became cult favourites in their homeland and beyond. Originally formed by Tyla in London in 1983, he has been joined by various line-ups over the years. The Dogs are regarded as one of the best underground rock bands of their time with their bluesy, heartfelt, sing-along anthems and ramshackle style. With something exceptional to the norm, they did not go unnoticed, appearing on Top of The Pops and MTV and gracing the covers of Kerrang, RAW, and Sounds magazines. They toured the world successfully several times, creating a cult like following in the UK, Europe and Japan and released four Top 40 albums with 1989’s ‘A Graveyard of Empty Bottles’ reaching #16 on the UK chart, while their single ‘Satellite Kid’ reached #26.

Since then, frontman Tyla J. Pallas has continued to record many albums and tour, keeping the Dogs legacy alive. As well as being an accomplished songwriter, he is a published author and equally well known for his distinct artwork. Still alive and kicking. Still incendiary. Still stirring up conflict with his art, music, live performances and writing. A 21st century poet. A modern day troubadour. A travelling man whose home is where his he(art) is.

Now in 2017, Tyla’s Dogs D’Amour are recording a brand new album entitled ‘In Vino Veritas’ and hitting the road once again, performing such classics as ‘How Come It Never Rains’, ‘Satellite Kid’ and ‘I Don’t Want You To Go’ plus many more fan favourites from Tyla’s staggering back catalogue.
