Skiddle: The UK's biggest guide to festivals

There's so many amazing festivals out there but it can be difficult to work out which festivals you're going to attend. There's so many things to take into consideration - the location of the festival, the size of the festival, the genre of music, whether it's family friendly and the type of facilities onsite.

Skiddle's new Festivals Finder is here to make the process that bit easier. Simply use the Festivals Finder's unique festival search, which include options allowing you to search for festivals based on filters such as location; month; genres; type; size; accommodation; amenities and even the artists you've liked on Facebook!

Blue Nation is an indie/blues driven outfit hailing from Birmingham’s vibrant music scene. Fronted by the powerful vocals of Neil Murdoch coupled with an exquisite and talented backline supplied by Jon Hooker and Gurdev Sohal (Greddy).
Born out of the desire to bring people something they can hang onto (musically). With heart pounding vocals, infectious melodies and sharp riffs Blue Nation have set themselves high Standards
Neil is the main songwriter, guitarist and singer and has enigmatic stage presence with vocals to match! Neil specialises in the truth when it comes to song writing. With love, life, hurt and sorrow it’s all wound up and created in Blue Nations songs. During a sound check “Big Mick” sound engineer for Metallica said “ where the F**kin Hell did that skinny kid (Neil) get that great voice from?” We still don’t know and neither does he…
Having been in bands before he set about finding the perfect blend of musicians. Soon Neil found who he was looking for and they formed Blue Nation.
Drumming is in Jon’s blood and music plays a major part in his life. Jon has a degree in contemporary popular music from The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. (Focused specifically on drums) his drumming style oozes funk, soul and downright dirty blues, Jon has become the back bone of Blue Nation

Playing bass guitar with nothing but love and passion Greddy is the final ingredient in the Blue Nation recipe. The love of funk, soul and rock music defines the sound he shapes and creating a head nodding rhythm section with Jon. Add Greddys bass work in harmony with Neil’s guitar playing and you have the Blue Nation sound.

Their gig and recording experience is extensive, with nearly 300 gigs that include many major cities in the UK, two acoustic tours of NYC focused around Greenwich Village and Manhattan. Stand out gigs in 2011 – Main stage @ O2 Academy Islington and the F1 Music Stage @ F1 GP Silverstone. 2012 already sees them booked again for the F1 Music Stage @ Silverstone and their first appearance @ The Hard Rock Café London

Blue Nation use rock, blues, indie, and a hint of Mod in creating a sound that doesn’t fit neatly into a genre and is all the more memorable for it. Their songs are delivered by three accomplished musicians, fronted with stunning vocals. All backed up with experience and stage presence.
