THE HUMAN LEAGUE

Performed LIVE by Love Distraction

Friday 22nd January 2027
19:00 – 23:00

Camp and Furnace, Liverpool

Few bands changed the sound of British popular music quite like The Human League.

Emerging from Sheffield in the late 1970s, they pioneered a new era of electronic music, blending analogue synthesisers, unforgettable melodies and striking visual style to become one of Britain's most influential pop bands. Their landmark album Dare and a string of timeless singles helped define the sound of the 1980s while influencing generations of artists that followed.

45 years after Don't You Want Me became the UK Christmas Number One of 1981 and one of the biggest-selling singles in British music history, Camp and Furnace celebrates the music of The Human League with an unforgettable live concert performed by Love Distraction.

About Love Distraction

Since forming in 2017, Love Distraction have become one of the UK's most respected Human League tribute productions, earning a reputation for exceptional musicianship, authentic analogue synth sounds and meticulous attention to detail. Built around live synthesisers, keyboards, guitar and outstanding vocal performances, the band recreate the unmistakable sound and atmosphere of a genuine Human League concert rather than simply imitating the original act.

Featuring an uncanny tribute to Philip Oakey alongside outstanding musicians and vocalists recreating the harmonies of Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall, Love Distraction have performed at theatres, festivals, major music venues and prestigious 80s weekenders across the UK. Their concert-style production has earned praise from audiences and promoters alike for faithfully capturing both the precision and excitement of one of Britain's greatest electronic bands.
