Naturally, in the homeland of Hogmanay, there's a multitude of options come New Year's Eve in Edinburgh. Nightvision are right at the forefront of the city's clubbing scene, and are so once again on NYE, with Joris Voorn and Groove Armada going off on a house and techno tip for a majestic entry to 2018.
The award-winning Why Not Club prepares a NYE Wonderland with magicians, fire jugglers, stilt walkers appearing across three rooms of sublimely produced decor. Lulu hosts a Hogmanay Time Machine special with a night of classic, retro cuts, while legendary reggae lovers Wee Dub head to La Belle Angele with Eva Lazarus, Danny T and Tradesman supplying the dancehall, jungle and African flavours to ease you into 2018.
For something a bit more relaxed, The View frontman Kyle Falconer heads up an intimate show at Woodland Creatures, and if roaring guitars are what you want to hear when the clock strikes midnight, DreadnoughtRock sees in 2018 in it's own inimitable style - to a pulverising rock soundtrack.
There's hundreds more NYE events in Edinburgh that require your inspection though - head here for all Edinburgh New Year's Eve events.
