I come from a very musical family as my Mum was a professional singer so growing up, there was always Elvis, Soul, Motown being played. Because of this Music has always and will always be an influential part of my life. I have always been a massive fan of lyricists since about 1991. For me it started with Hip Hop, from Cypress Hill, Funkdoobiest and House of Pain to The Wu Tang Clan, Onyx, DRE, Snoop etc. I then got into Hardcore, Ragga and Jungle.
Stevie Hyper Dee, Shabba D, Mc Det and Skibadee were my idols when I was a kid and I was so gassed to have met Skibadee and Det on a few occasions.
I used to mix around 96 but wasn’t very good so decided to start writing lyrics. I remember my first 16 was about chattin about Megadrives and Super Nintendos (really showing my age :) By now it was all about Drum and Bass for me. Some of my favourite old skool tracks are Super Sharp Shooter, Jazzy, Warhead, Trouble the many Lighter Remixes, Bambatta.
I have known MC Super since I was 4 and he like me has always been into the same music and enjoyed writing lyrics, he has been an huge influence on me. We used to MC on Storm FM and Phantom FM back then and did a few local events like Dance 2k’s and also some nights at the Boulevard, The Attic, The Orchard, Club Eden, The Garden and other venues around High Wycombe and surrounding areas.
My good friend MC Yardee got me involved with Revolution and Carl Collins around 2000 and we Hosted at many venues including The Matrix, Reading University, Bristol Academy, Brunel Rooms in Swindon and also Unification in Leicester. I was lucky enough to Host alongside some of the best DJ’s in the game along the way including Nicky Blackmarket, Ray Keith, Adam F, Hazard, Sub Zero, Ruff Stuff, Mampi Swift and Jack Frost. My good friend DJ GTEE managed to arrange for the legendary Nicky Blackmarket to do a set at his studio which was a massive honour for me. It was a night I will never forget. See the link below. You will also find a video link below to a set I did with DJ Hazard and my boy Azey Don in 2014.
The other links are from the recent Elevated Bass Birthday Bash which was a night to remember, big up all the EB family!!!I am now 35 and Married with a beautiful 5 year old Daughter and I run a successful telecommunications company. I still write lyrics as I am extremely passionate my Hobby. Over the past few years I have been hosting at Audio Venom, Back 2 da Future and more recently Elevated Bass. I have written a few tracks to Hip Hop beats which you can find the links to below, my favourite being Misunderstood as I feel it explains why I do what I do and that song has always been a favourite from my days as a child.
