The format is simple: arrive, grab a drink, and start conversations. No presentations, no pitches from the front - just direct networking with people who are actively working in property.

Practical details

When: 3rd Thursday each month (except December), from 7pm

Where: The Showdown, 1268 Grant Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94133

Cost: Free to attend. The venue asks that everyone buys a drink at full price

Dress: Smart casual (no sportswear). Over 25s only; ID may be requested

The venue

The Showdown is a bar and grill on Grant Avenue in North Beach, next door to The Saloon. It is rated 4.3 from around 210 reviews and is mid-priced. Expect a small room with open garage-door seating onto the street, which is the quieter spot, while the music and sport can be loud inside. The bar opens at 3pm on Monday and Tuesday and from midday the rest of the week, so our 7pm start is unconstrained.

Getting there

The venue is on Grant Avenue in North Beach, next door to The Saloon. BART does not reach North Beach, but the Powell-Mason cable car and several Muni bus lines serve the area, and it is a walkable distance from the Financial District and Chinatown. Parking in North Beach is genuinely difficult, so transit or a rideshare is strongly preferable.
