A deeper yoga journey begins when practice becomes more than simply performing asanas.
This 25-day immersive teacher training at Kunwar Yoga in Dehradun is designed for students who want to understand yoga more completely, strengthen their personal practice and begin developing the knowledge and confidence required to guide others.
The course is suitable for both beginners and intermediate practitioners. It combines traditional yoga practices with structured study in anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology, allowing students to explore yoga from physical, mental and philosophical perspectives.
Through the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Dehradun, students develop a strong foundation in Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, while also studying asana alignment, posture integration, modifications and adjustments.
Rather than concentrating only on achieving postures, the training encourages participants to understand how different asanas work, how they can be practiced safely and how they may eventually be introduced to different types of students.
Regular practical sessions help participants develop greater awareness of strength, flexibility, balance and alignment.
Students explore asanas progressively while learning variations, modifications and observation skills. The curriculum also includes alignment and adjustments as part of its 80-hour Techniques, Training & Practice component.
Breath and awareness are central to this training.
Pranayama sessions help students understand breathing techniques and their relationship with concentration and yoga practice. Meditation encourages greater mindfulness, mental clarity and self-awareness.
Morning sessions combine Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation, creating a structured start to each training day.
A deeper yoga practice also requires a better understanding of the body.
The anatomy and physiology curriculum includes body systems, muscles and joints, yoga-related safety and injury prevention. Students learn how anatomical knowledge can support safer movement, improved alignment and more responsible teaching.
Yoga is not limited to physical exercise.
The philosophy component explores the history and origins of yoga, Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the ethics of being a yoga teacher.
Students are encouraged to understand how traditional yogic principles relate to everyday life, personal discipline and the responsibility involved in guiding others.
One of the most important parts of the journey is learning how to transform personal experience into clear and thoughtful instruction.
The Teaching Methodology curriculum includes:
The published curriculum allocates 40 hours specifically to Teaching Methodology, helping participants build practical classroom skills rather than relying on theory alone.
Knowing yoga and teaching yoga are different skills, a distinction humanity somehow discovers only after standing in front of an actual class. 😄
Practical teaching sessions give students opportunities to communicate instructions, observe other practitioners and develop greater confidence while guiding Asana, Pranayama and Meditation.
Written assessment and practical demonstration are also part of the evaluation process.
The daily timetable is designed to balance physical practice, theoretical learning, meals, rest and reflection.

8:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Breakfast & Relaxation
