Cavo Paradiso

On the cliff-top of an island more prone to cash-rich holidaymakers with superyachts than the types you catch at Fabric on a Friday night, lives one of the great anomalies of clubland. Cavo Paradiso — pitched above Paradise Beach — is a poolside venue encapsulating all the charm, all the warm-hearted gusto, you'd expect from a quaint Greek island, except with a top-notch soundtrack. Decorated stylishly with terracotta tiles, white-wash walls, even a few cast-iron gargoyles, it has a look and feel closer to a classy Grecian villa than a superclub — that is, until it sets off the custom-built JBL Dance 5/3 soundsystem and CO2/confetti cannons. Most concerned with talent likely to pull thousands of punters on a fairly remote tourist haven — Tiestö, Angello and Aoki all played last summer — Cavo is also partial to names carrying underground credentials as well as significant, international appeal.
