York Dungeon Standard Admission at York Dungeon takes you through 2,000 years of York's darker history. The experience uses live actors, immersive sets and special effects to tell stories from the city's past.

Along the way, you come face to face with the Vikings, learn about their Saxon enemies and meet historical figures including Guy Fawkes and Isabella Billington. Scenes also cover the Black Death and a torture chamber, with the story unfolding around you as a walk-through experience.

The attraction is designed to let you see, hear and smell different parts of York's murky past, bringing history to life through performance and effects.
