York Dungeon Standard Admission at York Dungeon takes visitors through 2,000 years of York’s darker history, bringing the city’s past to life with live actors, immersive sets and special effects. The experience moves through stories of the Vikings and their Saxon enemies, and introduces notorious local figures including Guy Fawkes and Isabella Billington.
Along the way, you can expect scenes inspired by the black plague and the torture chamber, presented as a mix of history, performance and theatrical effects. The attraction is designed to be seen, heard and, as the source copy puts it, smelled as well.
This standard admission gives access to York Dungeon’s live history experience, where the city’s “orrible past is presented in a way that is both entertaining and informative.
Age guidance: children must be aged 5 and over. York Dungeon is not recommended for under 8s.
Younger visitors must be aged 5 or over, and the experience is not recommended for children under 8.
