Review of Big Family Festival

over priced everything was spaced apart far away small stage show kids could barely see won't be taking the family again extortion prices to get in and then over priced rides food even a small amount of face glitter was over priced

this event in its entirety was mis sold. the limited amateur acts were repeated a number of times on the 1 stage. soft play, sports zone etc were just not there. camping was abysmal no water supply, porta loos with no supplies. no hand wash facilities, no sanitising stations, no cooking area, pot holes in the ground that were unseen due to length of grass. I believe everyone who booked and paid through skiddle should be entitled to claim a full refund as the event advertised was certainly not what was delivered.  

We had a great time, lots of activities and acts, could be a little better organised in terms of timings and communication but we really enjoyed ourselves.

Absolutely awful! Not even half of the things advertised were there. Free parking was advertised and then was forced to pay Â£5 per car to park! Would not recommend and would not go again! 

the camp site was a straw field that wasn't suitable for camping. we camped as a group and everyone's legs ended up cut from the grass. no hand washing or alcohol gel available. the cooking area was just a gavel patch with no facilities at all. 
 nearly all advertised activities (soft play, ballet, dance work shop, bingo, table tennis, badminton, ride-ons...to name a few) weren't there. lucky if I counted 20 activities hardly the 100+ activities advertised 
4 stalls to look at, acts weren't the greatest, tho my daughter did enjoy frozen and duggee. 
as for the stewards.....2 stood laughing and taking piss of my group after the person thr gate told us to drive past the red tent and not the blue which us through the site as it was setting up on Friday morning. I did here then and confronted them pointing out that some signage wouldn't go amiss as nothing had signs. the organisers were helpful....the showers wasn't really there fault and when I explained how my daughter had been sick and could they let me know when they are planning to turn the showers on, both were very helpful and that was the only direct dealing I had with them. 
overall not really what was advertised so wouldn't return unless vast improvements made.  

A really great weekend had by all. Having been a festival goer from the age of 16 until having children I really wanted to relive the old festival going days,without spending a fortune,to see how the children got on with it. Big family festival did not disappoint. There was a lovely mixture of kids entertainment intermingled with popular music that people of all ages could enjoy. Yes there were rides that cost money and there wasnât a huge selection of food vendors but the prices were reasonable for a festival. If we had gone to one of the bigger, more commercial festivals we would have been looking at spending Â£700 minimum for the four of us before weâd even arrived and then would have had to spend money on food in the arena. Here it cost less than Â£200 for us all to camp for the weekend and go in. The campsite was so close to the main stage that it was also easy to get back to the tent and eat and drink food that had been bought with us. 

All in all we had a great time, the kids loved the circus skills, the slime workshop and meeting their favourite characters and we loved being able to have a laid back drink with friends while listening to music. We will definitely be back next year!

Had an amazing weekend with lots of things for the family to do. can't wait for next year âºï¸
