Sarah Harding Artwork Unveiling & Talk with Pete Waterman

About

We'd love you to join us to unveil our artwork for Sarah Harding, the newest addition to our Stockport Music Story 'Art In The Underpass' exhibition at Stockport Station, celebrating the musical achievements of the Girls Aloud singer.

Sarah moved to Stockport when she was 14 and spent her formative years here - attending Hazel Grove High School, studying dance and drama at the North Cheshire Theatre School in Heaton Moor and attending Stockport College to study Hair and Beauty. She then worked as in promotions for two nightclubs at the Grand Central entertainment complex just opposite the station.

The tour will meet at 11am in the main entrance of Stockport Station.

John will conduct a tour of the artworks in the Underpass and we'll be joined by The Hitman producer Pete Waterman who will reveal our tribute to Sarah Harding hand painted by local artist Vivian Lally.

We will then convene in the Conference Room on Platform 3 for tea and coffee. Rosemary will be chatting to producer Pete Waterman about his memories of Sarah as a judge on Popstars The Rivals, the programme which launched her career with Girls Aloud and what made Sarah such a star.

We will also be asking Pete about working with girl bands throughout his illustrious career with hit production team Stock, Aitken and Waterman who dominated the charts from the mid 1980's and their incredible achievement of maintaining at least one record in the UK Top 100 Singles Chart every single week from March 1986 to October 1990.

All ticket proceeds from this event will go to Sarah's Breast Cancer Fund at The Christie. Tickets are strictly limited due to space in the Conference Room. We recommend allowing three hours for your parking but the event should be finished by 1.30pm

Our thanks to Avanti West Coast and the South East Manchester and Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnerships for their support to make these Stockport Music Story events possible.
