Poynton Royal British Legion Cllub

The Poynton Legion, the earliest established regular home of Bluefunk Rhythm and Blues Club, and now once again where we live. Housed in the Bailey Room with its own professionally installed house pa, it is comfortable, well appointed and amply furnished when required. We will be doing plenty of what we are well known for, ie the best bands the world can offer us on a regular 3rd Thursday every month. What is new is that on the 1st Sunday of every month we will be hosting a Roots Acoustic show featuring the very best of British and international acoustic players. This is something we have wanted to do for a long time and are very excited about. Of extreme importance to us is the fact that The Legion has one of the best run bars in Christendom boasting 3 to 5 different cask ales at any time. It has won the coveted CAMRA award for Best Club on four separate occasions including 2012, 2013 and 2014. Stick that in yer pot and drink it! Situated right at the heart of Poynton about a half mile from Poynton railway station (London -Manchester line) it couldn't be more convenient. In the past we have run Mini Buses from nearby Macclesfield for the many Bluefunksters who live there (well worth it when you check out the Bar!). Demand will re-instate this.
