About

St. James’ Church was built in the 1830s to serve Parish of Shardlow and Great Wilne, which was, at that time, the largest inland port in the country. With its box-pews and tall pulpit it is a fascinating example of early Victorian architecture. We have a versatile meeting-room, the Hayward Room , at the west end of the Church, which is available for community activities & live music events.
