Huntingdon Audio Tour: Castles and Codes

Explore Huntingdon at your own pace

Behind quiet facades and rolling English lawns, Godmanchester and Huntingdon guard tales of espionage, rebellion, and invention far richer than their peaceful charm suggests. This self-guided audio tour leads you through their winding streets and ancient riverbanks, opening doors to stories many locals barely know.

Who eavesdropped behind the wallpaper as Nazi science clashed with Allied nerves in a secluded country house? What secrets did the arches of the Old Bridge shield as kings crossed its span and townsfolk feuded for centuries over repairs? And why did a Scottish king's dream for England end atop the grassy mound where sheep now graze?

Follow footsteps of spies, monarchs, and townsfolk alike as echoes of crackling radio broadcasts and battle cries swirl beneath the green canopies. With every step, reveal how ordinary lanes became stages for power struggles and unlikely comedy.
