WMF 2027 - Our 21st Birthday

Witney Music Festival is a community-rooted celebration of live music in the heart of Oxfordshire. It began as a tribute, founded by Stuart Foster in memory of his sister Jo, and over two decades has grown into one of the county's most loved events, run in partnership with Witney Town Council. In 2027 we turn 21, and "Key to the Door" marks the moment the festival comes of age: still affordable, still built around local talent, still here for the community that made it.

What it includes

Set across The Leys Recreation Ground, the festival is far more than a single stage. Expect a Main Stage arena mixing national names with the best of Oxfordshire's emerging artists, a Dance Stage running high-energy DJs and electronic sets, activities for kids, a trader village, a VIP area for those who want to elevate the day, and our free accessible area and Inclusive Zone, plus our raised viewing platform so the festival is genuinely open to everyone.

Families are welcome throughout, with under-14s going free with a paying adult, and a well-stocked on-site bar keeps the weekend flowing. We also carry our community mission onto the field, with our long-running mental-health partnership at the centre of what we do.

What to expect

A friendly, all-ages crowd of several thousand, drawn from Witney and beyond: a proper market-town festival with Cotswold charm but real energy. Indie, rock, electronic, soul, dub and everything in between, across multiple stages, with the majority of slots given to local and emerging acts. It's the kind of weekend where you'll catch a band you've never heard, run into half the town, and leave already planning next year.
