We enjoyed the evening. However Music a little too loud to talk and we were on the upper level so downstairs must have been worse. Tables were not cleared properly before next course was bought up. Cutlery not laid as per the amount of courses correctly. Sorbet I felt was served at the end of wrong course. I also had a very long hair in my sorbet and there was lumps of ice in the bottom. On the plus side the staff were friendly and did try hard. The food was quite nice but presentation was a bit lax in as much as no set pattern. Every main course plate looked differently enhanced. Mine looked like a school child had splattered paint around the plate. Could have been a little neater. On the plus side the food did taste okay although main course was cold. The evening itself was too spread out six o'clock start was way to early. I do like a nice gap between courses but the gap was way to big especially as it was only nouvelle cuisine (small morsels on the plate) I believe the staff to perhaps be new at this game and need more training and more experience but they did try. I would return but maybe not immediately. Service, Presentation, and food knowledge need polishing up.

Asked by telephone by the manager to arrive at 6pm, told it was a black tie special event. Arrived as requested, some diners dressed up, others in jeans, hoodies, trainers., odd combination of clients. Food served very, very slowly, starting at 7.45. Charming but completely inexperienced waiting staff, including greeter at the door who couldn’t find my name on the list until I pointed it out to her. Food ok, very overambitious for the kitchen, served tepid or cold, always on cold plates, on our table of four all received variations of the supposedly set meal. The music was unbearably loud, jazz singer and musicians all with microphones and speakers so that it was absolutely impossible to chat to companions at the table., or hear what waiters were saying. China and glassware needs to be much more upmarket, this was all ‘cheap and thick’ as one might expect in a cafe. Like many others we left before the last course, at 10.30. It took three hours to serve three courses, dirty plates were left on our table. We had to ask for cutlery.... definitely not a success for us. Such a shame in a beautiful venue. Too loud, tepid food too slow, inexperienced demonstrated at every moment of the evening.

What a fantastic night!
I’m struggling to find anything that we didn’t love about this event. Also, an extra special thank you to Michaela who took the time to ensure we were happy and comfortable. An absolute superstar!
