About
Pirates In The Port is a free shanty & folk festival in the City of Newport, South Wales, featuring over 50 bands from Cornwall, Devon, Wales and across the UK. In the last 2 years, bands have played to packed houses including our hub, the Corn Exchange. All the venues are within a 10 minute walk. It’s all free, with free pirate -themed children’s activities, details tbc at www.shantywales.com. As in previous years, we’re raising money via voluntary bucket collections for SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association), Wales Air Ambulance and the RNLI, with £5000 raised over the last 2 festivals.
