Very excited to announce that BALF, LUST, and EX SERVANT will be playing Café Etch on Wednesday 16th September, bringing you…An Evening of Noise!
A triangulation of North Yorks-Teesside-County Durham, there’ll be 3 solo sets followed by a group improv/noise formation to round things off!
BALF
Noise artist from the North Yorkshire Coast.
Manipulated field recordings by hand held digital technology.
Live works explore the rushing sonics of anxiety electronics through to the efflorescent post-rave audio ecologies of recovery trax to find the bloom in the concrete.
Collaborators include: Quiet Husband, Wren Adobe, IC41, Tomasz C as LOW FELL and Jonathan Breakfast.
Releases on Industrial Coast, Bad Revue and forthcoming material on Venalism.
LUST Noise-inspired rock. Debut performance. FFO: Guided By Voices, Dabholm Cut, Elliot Smith.
EX-SERVANT
Originally from Darlington and back again following a decade deep in the East End of London.
Inspired by the intensity of ‘Krautrock’, the rawness of early Industrial (Broken Flag Records), the sonic surrealism of Nurse with Wound, and the experimentation of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
EX-SERVANT explores the architecture of sound and the impact of the moment through improvisation.
