Red Laser BBQ '26

Another spin around the sun and the Red Laser mothership prepares to deploy a barrage of buzz onto planet Carlton Club for their annual celestial spectacular - The Red Laser BBQ!

After ten years cryogenically frozen, we pulled the event out of the cooler last year cos we knew we'd found the perfect new home for it at the Carlton Club, and we was right - maximum buzz was achieved by all. So we're back on Sunday 30th August for another day-into-night, inside-outside, high voltage romp for all the family and freaks. Well, technically, kids need to fuck off at 8PM but that's plenty of time to get 'em banjo'd on Ribena and Haribou before packing 'em off to their grandma's while you get down to some serious biznoinks inside da cluuub!

We've drafted up another elite squadron of RL affiliates for musical duties - old firms Social Service, Full Beam! and The Chemical Mothers; the ever-present (sexy) Rhod Parry, big bad Bobby Thorpe of Behind The Groove, and Manchester's celebrity postman Royal Male. Making their RL debut, we've got Didsbury and Bolton rude boy Fishy D, Tom2Trax of All Trax fame, and the Greek adonis / Dance Therapy main man that is Karl Roscoe, who's encyclopaedic knowledge of all things house and techno even gets our own eagle-eared Kickin' Pigeon deep into a tailspin. We're also mega chuffed to have secured Hulme's finest, Demi and Chia doin' their DISCHI business LIVE which is a right coup and should have even the grumpiest local resident re-thinking their phone call to Manchester council and coming down to shake their shit.

Red Laser CRU in attendance of course - that's KP, Matt Triggs, Pharoah Brunson and Metrodome joining forces for some late nite hydrofoil action as we glide through the Bank Holiday and regret all our life's decisions come Monday morning... good job most of us'll have the day off then innit.

There'll be a royal selection of food vendors on the day, which will obviously include a grill (couldn't call it a BBQ other could we?). Veggies, vegans and none flame-grilled foodies however will also have plenty of options for decent scran. We're not food nazis! Private table boings will be no doubt reporting for duty as well....

***TICKET INFORMATION***

DAY-TIME tickets gain you access to the event from 1pm - 8pm only. *Anyone bringing kids will need to purchase YOUTH TICKETS for 'em. This is because the venue needs to keep track of how many kids will be at the event... so, unless you got your baby strapped to your person, all kids up to the age of 17 will need a ticket. With this in mind, rather than charging like a tenner for adults, we are initially only asking £5 (+bf) for the day-time session for adults. Youth tickets will remain at £5 right up until the day of the event. Youth ticket holders must be accompanied by an adult and all youth must vacate by 8pm please.

DAY & NIGHT-TIME tickets gain you access to the event from 1pm - 1am - so all the day-time fun outside plus the merriment inside from 8pm until the end of proceedings. We expect these will sell out so fair warning!

So to be clear: If you wanna come to the night time party inside from 8pm you need to grab a DAY & NIGHT-TIME ticket. Anyone who misses out on these may be able to get into the inside later on for a fee but this is not guaranteed. There will be a waiting list and priority for this list will also go to peops who have been at the BBQ in the daytime.
