About

Aurisis Manchester's first festival dedicated to sound art in all its forms, bringing together some of the most distinctive voices in contemporary sound art through a range of practices that explore immersive listening, the environment, architecture and space, technology, and the body.

Between the9th and 11th of Oct, expect three days of installations, performance, spatial audio, talks, workshops and sound. Developed by Modus Arts, Auris Festival brings the dynamism of the sonic arts to Manchester in a festival format for the very first time, making the city a new destination for the art form.

Expect intimate, durational object-based performances that ask us to consider the delicate and fleeting nature of sound, performances using blindfolds and multi-channel sound systems, instruments built to replicate and translate the frequencies experienced during tinnitus, workshops, talks and participatory sessions look at the connection between vibration, frequency and visual patterns; the sonic possibilities of waste and discarded items; the acoustic qualities of abandoned spaces and much more.
