About

England are in a World Cup semi-final and it is Argentina standing in the way. Joshua Brooks is opening all three floors as an England fan zone for it.

Kick-off is 8pm from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Thomas Tuchel's side have taken the long road: two late Harry Kane goals to see off DR Congo, a 3-2 win over Mexico at the Azteca with ten men on the pitch, then Norway beaten 2-1 after extra time in Miami thanks to a Jude Bellingham double. One more and it is New York on Sunday, sixty years on from 1966.

Argentina arrive as reigning champions and they have not exactly cruised either. Two goals down to Egypt with fifteen minutes left before Romero, Messi and Enzo Fernández turned it around, then Switzerland put away 3-1 after another thirty minutes of extra time.

The two have met five times at a World Cup. England took 1962, 1966 and 2002. Argentina have 1986 and the shootout in Saint-Étienne in 1998. This is the first knockout tie between them in twenty-eight years, and the first time they have met with a final on the line.

Three floors, all of them showing the game. The basement club runs on projectors and the venue's own system, so the room that normally holds house and drum and bass under the brick arches becomes the loudest place in Manchester for ninety minutes. Upstairs, the clubhouse is fully air conditioned with the bar running throughout. Pick your floor and stay in it.

Doors 6:30pm. Kick-off 8pm. Last entry 8pm, so leave yourself time. 18+.

Joshua Brooks, 106 Princess Street.
