John Proctor is the Villain at Wyndham’s Theatre transfers to the West End following a sold-out run at the Royal Court. Kimberly Belflower’s play centres on five young women in a small town, where a soundtrack of pop, adrenaline and barely contained rage frames a story in which buried truths begin to surface and the characters question what they have been told.
Directed by Tony Award-winner Danya Taymor, this production was described by the Financial Times as “joyous, blazingly intelligent”. It is a pointed exploration of girlhood, power and the courage to question what we think we know.
The season begins in February 2027 and runs for a strictly limited 12-week season.
Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes, with no interval.
Age guidance: recommended for ages 12+. Children under 16 must be accompanied by, and sit next to, a ticketholder aged 18 or over. Children under 4 will not be admitted.
Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre. Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Food and drink purchased elsewhere may not be brought into the venue.
This production contains flashing lights, strobe lights, a moment of complete blackout and loud music. It also includes sensitive content with depictions of grooming and abusive relationship dynamics, descriptions of sexual assault, a forced kiss, and racist and sexist microaggressions.
