Hay Fever is Noël Coward’s comedy in a new production directed by Emily Burns. Emmy, two-time Tony, Screen Actors Guild and Drama Desk winner Christine Baranski makes her West End debut as Judith Bliss, with Academy Award nominated stage and screen actor Richard E. Grant.
Last year, Judith retired from life on stage and already misses the applause. At the Blisses’ country home, her husband David and children Sorrel and Simon are too self-involved to be a good audience, so Judith invites a young fan to stay for the weekend.
Unknown to Judith, each member of the family has also invited a guest of their own. With overlapping arrivals and no appetite for compromise, the house quickly tips into a comic tangle of parlour games, put-downs and unrequested encores.
Duration: 2 hours including the interval.
Please note that trailer filming will take place at the 27 October performance. Performances on 16 November and 19 November will be filmed. Latecomers will not be admitted to these performances.
No exchanges or refunds after purchase.
Current cast: Christine Baranski as Judith Bliss; Richard E. Grant.
