Hay Fever is a new production of Noël Coward’s comedy, directed by Emily Burns. Christine Baranski makes her West End debut as Judith Bliss, alongside Richard E. Grant.
The play follows Judith, who has retired from life on stage but still misses the applause. At the Blisses’ country home, her husband David and children Sorrel and Simon are too self-involved to be a welcoming audience.
When Judith invites a young fan to stay for the weekend, each member of the family has a guest arriving at the same time. With no one suited to hosting and no appetite for compromise, the house soon fills with parlour games, put-downs and unrequested encores.
Running time: 2 hours including the interval.
27 October: trailer filming will take place at this performance. Latecomers will not be admitted.
16 November and 19 November: these performances will be filmed. Latecomers will not be admitted. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
Christine Baranski appears as Judith Bliss, making her West End debut, with Richard E. Grant also in the cast.
