Hay Fever is a new production of Noël Coward’s comedy, directed by Emily Burns. Christine Baranski makes her West End debut as Judith Bliss, alongside Academy Award nominated Richard E. Grant.
Judith Bliss has retired from life on stage, but she still misses the applause. Back at the Blisses’ country home, her husband David and children Sorrel and Simon are too self-involved to provide much of an audience, so Judith invites a young fan to stay for the weekend.
When each member of the family brings a guest of their own, the house quickly descends into parlour games, put-downs and unrequested encores. The result is a comic collision of egos under one roof, with no one suited to hosting and everyone struggling to compromise.
Key facts: Running time is 2 hours, including the interval.
On 27 October, trailer filming will take place at the performance. On 16 November and 19 November, the performance will be filmed. Latecomers will not be admitted on these dates.
No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
Christine Baranski stars as Judith Bliss, and Richard E. Grant also appears in the production.
