Hamilton is a stage musical telling the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of America. At 79 Victoria Street, London, the show brings that history to the stage through a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway.
Written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. It is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton, combining historical storytelling with a contemporary sound.
The production presents “the story of America then, as told by America now”, and is a strong option for audiences looking for a factually grounded musical with a clear historical narrative.
