Hamilton is the stage musical telling the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of the United States. It is written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton, with direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.
The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway, presenting the story of America then as told by America now. The production focuses on Hamilton’s life, political rise and influence through a contemporary musical form.
