About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London, is an 80-minute one-act dark comedy by Cole Escola, directed by Sam Pinkleton. Set in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, it centres on Mary Todd Lincoln and uses unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires to shape the story.

The play received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton. The New York Times called it “one of the best comedies in years”.

The cast also includes Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher and Giles Terera as Mary’s Husband.
