

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London is a dark comedy by Cole Escola, directed by Sam Pinkleton. Set in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, it centres on Mary Todd Lincoln and her frustrated life, with unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires running through the story.
The play is an 80-minute one-act and received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play and Best Direction of a Play. It was written as a close look at Mary Todd Lincoln through the perspective of a fool, and keeps its focus tightly on that character and her world.
Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes, with no intermission.

The role of Mary Todd Lincoln is played by Cole Escola from 20th July to 15th August, Jinkx Monsoon from 17th August to 26th September, and Lolly Adefope from 28th September to 5th December. The cast also includes Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher and Giles Terera as Mary’s Husband.
