About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London is Cole Escola’s dark comedy about Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Directed by Sam Pinkleton, it presents her story through an absurd comic lens, focusing on unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires.

The production received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton. For its London transfer, Mason Alexander Park leads the cast as Mary Todd Lincoln.

The show is an 80-minute one-act play and has been described by The New York Times as one of the best comedies in years.

Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes, with no interval.

Current cast

Mary Todd Lincoln will be played by Mason Alexander Park until 18th July, by Cole Escola from 20th July to 15th August, and by Jinkx Monsoon from 17th August to 26th September. Kate O’Donnell plays Mary’s Chaperone, Oliver Stockley plays Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Dino Fetscher plays Mary’s Teacher, and Giles Terera plays Mary’s Husband. Catherine Tate will no longer perform in Oh, Mary! at the Trafalgar Theatre.
