Trainspotting - the musical at Haymarket, London brings Irvine Welsh's story to the West End stage. Written by Irvine Welsh, with music and lyrics by Stephen McGuinness and Irvine Welsh, and directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger, it features Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, Tommy and Kelly, an ensemble cast and a live band.
The show includes tracks from the film alongside original songs. It is presented as a new musical version of the Trainspotting world, rooted in the characters and material from the original story.
Thirty years on from the film, this production returns the story to the stage for a contemporary audience.
Running time: 2 hours, including a 20-minute interval. Age guidance: 15+.
