About

About The Standard of Living

The Standard of Living at Theatre Royal Haymarket is a brand new world-premiere play by Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham. Directed by multi award-winner Nicholas Hytner, it tells the story of economist and Bloomsbury Group member John Maynard Keynes, moving between Whitehall and a circle of artists, writers and lovers including Lydia Lopokova, Duncan Grant and Virginia Woolf.

Starring Olivier Award winner Rory Kinnear and Royal Ballet principal Natalia Osipova in her West End debut, the production brings music, dance, desire and debate into the story of a man trying to imagine something better as markets crash and Britain edges towards chaos.

Key facts: Opening at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 September for a strictly limited 12-week season. Suggested for ages 12+.
