About The Standard of Living

The Standard of Living at the Theatre Royal Haymarket is a world-premiere play by Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham, directed by multi award-winner Nicholas Hytner. It opens in the West End for a strictly limited 12-week season.

The play follows economist John Maynard Keynes as he moves between Whitehall and a radical circle of artists, writers and lovers. With music, dance, desire and debate, it explores his search for a better life as markets crash and Britain edges towards chaos.

Key facts: Opening at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 September, this is a strictly limited 12-week run. Suggested for ages 12+.

Access bookings are managed via Theatre Royal Haymarket Digital Access Pass. If you have a Nimbus/Access card plus one and the access need is not mobility-related, you can select any price excluding Premiums and pay full price for one ticket, with the +1 ticket free, processed as two tickets at half price. Customers with mobility, deaf or visual impairment can book stalls seats at £25, excluding Premiums; there are four seats in the centre of Stalls D for visual or hearing issues, four aisle pairs for mobility issues and two wheelchair spaces.

Current cast

Rory Kinnear stars in the production alongside Royal Ballet principal Natalia Osipova, who is making her West End debut. Natalia Osipova will not be appearing at the evening performances on Friday 16th October, Wednesday 21st October and Wednesday 4th November, or at the matinee and evening performances on Thursday 22nd October and Thursday 5th November.
