The Standard Of Living

About The Standard of Living

The Standard of Living at Theatre Royal Haymarket is a brand new world-premiere play by James Graham. It tells the story of rebel economist and Bloomsbury Group member John Maynard Keynes as he moves between Whitehall and a radical circle of artists, writers and lovers.

As markets crash and old systems begin to crumble, the play follows Keynes as he questions what a good life looks like. It includes music, dance, desire and debate, and centres on his relationships with his wife Lydia Lopokova, his lover Duncan Grant and his friend Virginia Woolf.

Key facts: Opening at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 September for a strictly limited 12-week season.
