About The Standard of Living

The Standard of Living at the Theatre Royal Haymarket is a brand new world-premiere play by James Graham. It opens in the West End for a strictly limited 12-week season, directed by Nicholas Hytner and starring Rory Kinnear and Natalia Osipova in her West End debut.

The play tells the story of rebel economist and Bloomsbury Group member John Maynard Keynes. It follows him between Whitehall and a radical circle of artists, writers and lovers as markets crash and Britain moves towards chaos, asking what makes a good life. The production includes music, dance, desire and debate.

James Graham is the Olivier Award-winning playwright of Punch, Dear England and Labour of Love. The Standard of Living opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 September.

Before you book

Suggested for ages 12 and over. Natalia Osipova will not be appearing at the evening performances on Friday 16 October, Wednesday 21 October and Wednesday 4 November, or at the matinee and evening performances on Thursday 22 October and Thursday 5 November.

Access bookings are managed via the Theatre Royal Haymarket Digital Access Pass. If a customer has a Nimbus/Access card and a plus-one is not required for a mobility issue, they can select any price excluding Premiums and pay full price for one ticket, with the plus-one ticket free, processed as two tickets at half price. Customers who are disabled due to mobility, or who are deaf or visually impaired, are offered stalls seats at £25, not on Premiums, subject to internal allocation.

There are 4 seats held in the centre of Stalls D for visual or hearing issues, a further 4 pairs on the aisles for mobility issues, and 2 wheelchair spaces. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
