About Room on the Broom (2026)

Room on the Broom (2026) at the Lyric Theatre is a Tall Stories production based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The witch and her cat travel by broomstick and pick up a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird and a frantic frog before the broom snaps in two as a hungry dragon appears.

The show is Olivier Award-nominated and comes from Tall Stories, creators of imaginative storytelling theatre. It brings the picture book story to the stage in a family show built around the original characters and journey.

At the heart of the story is whether there will ever be room on the broom for the witch and her four passengers.

Key facts: Running time 60 minutes. Dates: 27th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027.

Room on the Broom is suitable for audiences aged 3 and up. No refunds or cancellations are available after booking.

Accessible performances are listed for Friday 11th December 2026 at 1.30pm with BSL, and Tuesday 1st December at 1.30pm with audio description, plus a Touch Tour at 12.30pm.
