About Room on the Broom (2026)

Room on the Broom (2026) at the Lyric Theatre is a Tall Stories production based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. This Olivier Award-nominated adaptation brings the picture book to the stage in a family show built around the witch, her cat and the journey on their broomstick.

The story follows the witch and her cat as they pick up a dog, a green bird and a frog along the way. When the broom snaps in two and a hungry dragon appears, the adventure asks whether there will ever be room on the broom for everyone.

Created by Tall Stories, the show runs from 27th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027.

Running time: 60 minutes.

Before you book

This show is suitable for audiences aged 3 and up. Accessible performances include BSL on Friday 11th December 2026 at 1.30pm, and audio described performances on Tuesday 1st December 2026 at 1.30pm, with a Touch Tour at 12.30pm.
