About Room on the Broom (2026)

Room on the Broom (2026) at the Lyric Theatre, London, is a Tall Stories production based on the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. It follows the witch and her cat as they travel on a broomstick and pick up a dog, a green bird and a frog, before the broom snaps in two just as a hungry dragon appears.

Presented as an Olivier Award-nominated show, this adaptation is designed for audiences aged 3 and up. Tall Stories describe it as imaginative storytelling theatre, and the production combines the familiar story with songs and puppetry.

Press coverage has described it as “a high-energy treat” and “a perfect introduction to the theatre”.

Key facts: Duration 60 minutes. Runs from 27th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027. Suitable for ages 3+.

This show is suitable for audiences aged 3 and up. No refunds or cancellations are available after booking.

Access performances are available on Friday 11th December 2026 at 1.30pm with BSL, and on Tuesday 1st December 2026 at 1.30pm with Audio Description and a Touch Tour at 12.30pm.
