The Comedy Club

About

The Comedy Club in The Power Station. Presented by Nice N' Spiky Comedy, headlined by the brilliant BBC Live At The Apollo star comic Michael Odewale.

Michael Odewale
Award-winning comedian and writer Michael is a familiar face from Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, The Stand Up Sketch Show and Jonathan Ross Comedy Club, and stars in his own Amazon special, Live at Soho Theatre. His debut show #BlackBearsMatter earned a Best Newcomer nomination at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and won Best New Show at Leicester Comedy Festival. Behind the scenes he's a BAFTA-winning team writer, with credits including Cunk on Earth and Charlie Brooker's Death to 2020 for Netflix.

Dom McGovern
Co-writer of Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg and a BBC New Comedy Award nominee, Dom first made his name in Australia as a finalist in Melbourne International Comedy Festival's RAW Comedy competition. Fresh from supporting Aisling Bea on her UK tour, he made his Edinburgh Fringe debut this year with Prize Hog, hailed by The List as a remarkably assured debut. Camp, quick and gloriously sharp-tongued.

Erik Pohl
An Australian stand-up now firmly part of the London scene, Erik is a familiar face at Angel Comedy, where he played the UK's first live indoor gig after lockdown lifted in 2021. Laid-back, dry and very funny.

Sarah Roberts
Billed as the world's youngest, smallest, most normal comedian, Sarah is a BBC New Comedy Award finalist and one of Rolling Stone's Rising Stars of 2024. Her debut hour was picked out as a standout show by The Guardian, the i and Rolling Stone, and sold out at Soho Theatre. Catherine Bohart calls her a "phenomenal new talent, destined for stardom".

Shalaka Kurup
A doctor by education and a comedian by choice, Shalaka is winner of West End New Act of the Year and second runner-up at Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, and has opened for Brett Goldstein, Grace Campbell and Eshaan Akbar. Her debut show Get A Grip premiered at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, and the Morning Star calls her "deadpan joy".
