Southwark Park

Shine Night Walk is Cancer Research UK’s night-time walking full or half marathon, bringing people from across the UK together to light up London and fund life-saving research. Shine Night Walk starts at Southwark Park, which is a mile from Tower Bridge and will take participants past some of the most iconic landmarks of London, such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye, before finishing at Old Billingsgate. Shine Night Walk is a unique event in which you can raise money for all Cancer Research UK research into over 200 types of cancer, or personalise your sponsorship and raise money for a specific area of research. We receive no government funding for our research so our life-saving work relies on the money you raise. Thanks to supporters like you we have saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Over the past century, our scientists, doctors and nurses have made consistent progress in the fight against cancer, and survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. But we can’t stop there.
