London Iconic Market Food Tours For Singles

About

Enjoy a food tour in one of London’s most historic food destinations, with a thousand-year history. This exclusive experience is designed for solo travelers who want more than a walk around a market.

With other unattached adults, explore the Borough Market in London. This is an opportunity to find both great food & that someone that sparks your interest. Beginning at the ancient Gothic doorway of Southwark Cathedral, your guide sets the historical stage before leading the group into the market’s Victorian ironwork & cobbled lanes.

Along the way, five tastings capture the best flavours of the market: from a sizzling chorizo roll to a classic fish butty, topped off with a drink among new acquaintances. By the end, you will have eaten the equivalent of a very diverse lunch, & perhaps found a connection worth keeping.

Please note: This tour requires a minimum of 4 participants to operate, barring which, the tour may be canceled (a full refund or alternative date will be offered).

Route & Duration

Duration
3 hours

Southwark Cathedral

One of London's oldest Gothic buildings, Southwark Cathedral has stood beside London Bridge for over a thousand years. Your guide will share the stories woven into its stones — from medieval traders to Shakespeare, who worshipped here — setting the scene for a market that has fed this city for just as long. The cathedral is free to enter and offers a quiet, atmospheric start to the experience before the bustle of the market takes over.

Fish! Restaurant

Fish! is one of Borough Market's established seafood destinations in the market's historic surroundings. It offers a distinctly British take on the market's long association with fresh fish. Enjoy a half Fish Finger Butty, featuring crispy fish fingers in a soft bread roll with traditional accompaniments. The relaxed setting gives solo travelers an easy opportunity to introduce themselves and start conversations over a familiar British favorite.

Kappacasein Dairy

Tucked into Stoney Street, Kappacasein Dairy is where cheesemaker Bill Oglethorpe has been making raw-milk cheese in Bermondsey since 2008. Kappacasein's raclette is one of Borough Market's signature dishes. The stall is famous for its melted cheese and has become part of the market's food culture. Enjoy a portion of melted London Raclette or Ogleshield scraped over baby new potatoes. It is finished with black pepper and served with cornichons and pickled onions. It is the kind of deeply comforting dish that invites conversation, and connection.

Tapas Brindisa

Brindisa has been the heart of Spanish produce in Borough Market since 1988, and their open-air Chorizo Grill on Stoney Street is one of London's most celebrated street food stops. At this stall, guests will enjoy a half-portion chorizo roll — artisan Riojan chorizo sizzled on the grill, layered with piquillo peppers and rocket in a ciabatta roll. It is a bold, generous mouthful that earns its reputation as one of London's best sandwiches.

Bread Ahead Bakery

Bread Ahead's glass-fronted bakery on Cathedral Street is where Borough Market's most talked-about doughnuts are baked fresh every morning. Guests will receive one of Bread Ahead's signature filled doughnuts — think vanilla custard or salted caramel — a pillowy, generously filled treat that has become a rite of passage at the market. It is a sweet, unhurried finish to the tour, enjoyed with the market's Victorian ironwork all around.

The Market Porter

The streets surrounding Borough Market reveal how the neighborhood developed around commerce, food and London Bridge. Your guide connects the modern market with its older trading traditions. Finish with a beer tasting at The Market Porter. Guests who do not drink alcohol can choose a non-alcoholic alternative instead. The relaxed pub setting provides a natural final opportunity for conversation and the possibility of continuing the evening together after the tour.
