Julius Caesar 2027

About Julius Caesar 2027

Julius Caesar 2027 at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse presents Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in an intimate, candlelit setting. Audience members take their place as citizens of Rome as the story moves through the Senate and into the growing unrest around Julius Caesar.

The play follows a murderous plot as concerns build over Caesar’s increasing ambition. When public opinion turns against his enemies, political in-fighting gives way to civil war.

Joe Hill-Gibbins, who directed Ghosts at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, returns to direct this production of Shakespeare’s tale of friendship, betrayal and political violence.

Key facts: Shakespeare’s play is staged at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in a candlelit performance space, with Joe Hill-Gibbins returning as director.
