Julius Caesar 2027

About Julius Caesar 2027

Julius Caesar 2027 at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse presents Shakespeare’s political thriller in the intimate, candlelit setting of the playhouse. As the action moves through the corridors of the Senate, a murderous plot builds amid concerns over the growing ambition of dictator Julius Caesar.

When public opinion turns against Caesar’s enemies, political infighting escalates into civil war. The production focuses on friendship, betrayal and political violence, with the audience placed at the centre of the drama as citizens of Rome.

Joe Hill-Gibbins, who directed Ghosts at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, returns to direct this production.
