About Julius Caesar 2027

Julius Caesar 2027 at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse presents Shakespeare’s political drama in the theatre’s intimate, candlelit setting. The production places you among the citizens of Rome as events unfold around Julius Caesar’s growing power.

In the Senate, a murderous plot begins to take shape, but as public opinion shifts, the conflict moves from political rivalry into civil war. The story centres on friendship, betrayal and political violence, told through Shakespeare’s brutal and timely text.

Joe Hill-Gibbins, who previously directed Ghosts at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, returns to direct this production.
