About As You Like It 26

As You Like It 26 at the Globe Theatre is Shakespeare’s As You Like It, set around the escape of Rosalind, Celia and their friends from the Duke’s court into the Forest of Arden. The story moves from a cold, cruel court into a world of freedom, music and unexpected possibilities.

Co-directed by Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine, this production places the action in a lively woodland setting where revelry and live music shape the atmosphere of the show. The Globe stage becomes the Forest of Arden, with the characters’ search for love and self-discovery at its centre.

The production draws on the play’s themes of joy, desire and changing hearts, presenting Shakespeare’s text in a setting that brings the forest and its sense of release to the fore.
